"The Pentagon has threatened to fire on the satellite uplink positions of independent journalists in Iraq, according to veteran BBC war correspondent, Kate Adie."
So, not content with controlling their own reporters and access to their own information, they are, it seems, perfectly willing to kill anyone who is reporting stuff they don't like.
Day by day, this 'war' lurches onward and upward into bizarro world. If people weren't going to die as a result, I'd say it was funny.

Why am I not surprised?
I wonder what the average war correspondant's life insurance premium is when the man from the pru finds that news article

Ah, the hypocrisy of it all. Not the best example, I'm sure, but here's Wubya, yesterday:
"Crucial days lie ahead for the free nations of the world. Governments are now showing whether their stated commitments to liberty and security are words alone -- or convictions they're prepared to act upon"
Note the words "free" and "liberty", and the implication that these are not "words alone" Hands up those who still think this is going to be a just war, fought for the right reasons, in the right way...

I heard on the radio this morning that The US and UK were advising their citizens to get out of the middle east. But I though that nice Mr Bush was only going to bomb Saddam and innocent people weren't going to be affected.
Interestingly, |Jack Straw was on that Jeremy Vine show on BBC1 yesterday lunchtime, and was explaing why bombing Iraq wasn't against resolution 1441, as that resolution "explicitly states" (Straw's words) that military force can be used. Well, it's strabnge, but I've got a copy of resolution 1441 bin front of me, and I'm buggered if I can find it "explicitly stating" anything of the sort.

Rather ironic that I should read this post F61824?thread=129250&post=3145448 and reply to it, and then come to this thread.
