...can have its good points - I didn't have to sit through a month's election coverage! I could pick and choose when I wanted to see/hear election news without it being on every time I switch on TV, and I could still vote (by proxy, thanks mum!). But I'd still rather be back in blighty... ho hum, only a few more weeks to survive!

I asked someone about proxy voting yesterday, and they said that it wasn't done any more because it's "too risky".
What's postal voting then?

Well, proxy voting is still done, cos I did it (or my mum did it for me...)
And postal voting is when you ask for a vote by post and then:
a) it never arrives, or arrives late
b) it gets lost in the French postal system
c) it gets lost in the English postal system
d) it gets found months after the election in a council office somewhere, never having been counted
