I recently finished making one of these myself, and I liked the result so much I thought I'd share the instructions in an entry. I hope they're concise and understandable enough. Tell me what you think!

Cheers!

Excellent entry! Except a few minor infractions of the Writing-Guidelines it's a great entry.

I'll let others get back in details, I have to go to smiley - zzz for now... Sorry...

Which writing guidelines? Do you think it's too long?

Well I can't find anything going against the writing guidelines, but there are one or two that go against the style guidelines... maybe that's what Jodan meant.
Here's _my_ input anyway:

indefinately - indefinitely (tsk smiley - winkeye)

Use only 'relieve stress' in the actual link.

Remove spaces before some of the footnotes, and put a few others before punctuation rather than after.

Write a X b cm rather than a cm X b cm.

"Next comma pin 9 cm X 9 cm" and you are missing one comma in the first "Then iron your seams open on the back of each column using your towel between the iron and your fabric."

What does "iron your seams open on the back" mean?

Great entry. smiley - ok

Maybe that's what I meant....

I don't know, it was 11 hours ago smiley - blush

So, I infer that you haven't read the Writing-Guidelines? You might want to skim over them if you haven't

McKay The Disorganised

Looks good to me - not that I have enough T-shirts to achieve this - in fact the only memorial T-shirt I can remember buying was when we won the FA cup.

Now fashion mistakes purchased whilst intoxicated - I could make a dust sheet for canary wharf.

In response...

LOL, McKay smiley - laugh

I have read the Writing Guidelines, Jodan, I just wasn't sure which ones you were refering to. smiley - smiley I've made some adjustments now though.

And thanks so much for the helpful hints, NAITA. smiley - hug I have revised the entry accordingly.

Cheers! smiley - ok

smiley - yikes I though I was the only one who resorted to pliers for difficult sewing jobs!

Lovely article Raindawn - smiley - ok - but my goodness, did you really have that many pairs of unneeded jeans? I'd have had to slope off to the remnant fabric shop if I'd needed that much.

How much is iron-on interfacing nowadays? I'm not suggesting that you include the price, I just wondered if this turns out to be the most expensive bit of the project? I'm so stingy. I would be opricing something like cheap curtain-lining that I could tack onto the tshirts, to see if the hassle was worth the saving...

Looking forward to this getting into the Edited guide

smiley - biggrin Thanks!
Evidently, there is an actual tool that makes pulling the tufts of yarn through the quilt easier, but I too am stingy, and so deemed the task nothing that a big sewing needle and a pliers couldn't handle smiley - winkeye

I did need a lot of jeans, now that I think of it. I didn't use any of my own because as short and skinny as I am, mine wouldn't have been good for much fabric at all. I ended up getting 2 pairs from my mom, 2 pairs from my dad, 2 pairs from my brother, and 3 pairs from a rummage sale.

The interfacing wasn't overly expensive, but for the amount you'll need to finish the project, it adds up. I think i spent a little over $13 (American $). I did that instead of tacking on interfacing only because the iron-on stuff was faster smiley - smiley Perhaps I'll add a footnote there to suggest that other types of linings can be used.

Thanks for the input!

Cheers! smiley - ok

What a great idea - a way of recording some of the grand passions you've had in your life that's almost certainly considerably less painful than tattoos!

The entry looks fine - I can't see anything that really needs changing. To the Edited Guide with it! smiley - ok

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
