Today, as part of my ongoing campaign to educate myself, and become a more worthy citizen....ahem......i have learned a new word.
The word is........WALT.
Can anybody guess what a WALT is?
I'm off to the cinema now to watch cartoons, all this education has taken it's toll.

Should have guessed you'd get it Fez
Yep it's a Walter Mitty character. I was talking on the phone to an ex-army mate this morning, and i was talking about this delusional character i know. He said.......oh, he's a WALT
Apparently it's used in the forces to describe someone who pretends to be one of them (Fought all over the world, died twice, SAS were taught by me) you know the kinda thing. I'd never heard of it though.

It's in quite common usage over here, among folks above a certain age, but then we're all big Danny Kaye fans.

Folks above a certain age eh? Ah that'd explain my ignorance, i'm just a sapling you see.
I remember seeing that Danny Kaye film now you mention it. I wonder if it's available to rent. I could lend it to my WALT, see if he gets the joke.

That's the trouble with Walt's - they never recognise themselves, so he'd probably just end up singing and dancing and telling you how he was in the original cast of Annie.

Well, i THINK he's mostly harmless. I mean he makes me roll with laughter at some of his more ridiculous claims.
Trouble is........what happens if somebody actually swallows all the old nonsense? He could range an army of gullible souls to take over the world.
Actually, i expect he already owns the world, i'll ask him
