I think they've overdone it

I can't help but feel that the recent changes in the market structure are a bad thing.

Or at least aren't really workning that well.

I guess I can understand the supression on the dividend payouts, as that could distort the game. But making the market more 'responsive' to slight changes is ruining the game for me.

I cannot be logged onto Celebdaq 24 hours a day. I usually check in once a day to make sure everything is ticking over nicely. But now price can change dramatically in just a few minutes.

Yesterday I put all my money on Serena, believing that she would win the final, and therefore get some decent press and reasonable dividends at the end of the week. And she has won. And probably will get decent press coverage. Her price rise yesterday made my total earning about £110,000. But leaving my money in her today lost me £30,000.

This is silly money. It means that while I wait for dividends I could go bust. But I don't have the time to be a daytrader.

I think the system needs further refining before it works properly again. But right now, I'm deeply worried about the game.

I agree that they've not got it right. I can understand why they have made it more responsive and day trading more appealing but you really need to check every hour to make sure that you don't lose money.

I was on £1.3 million on friday and worried about being knee-capped so I bought som Henman who was dropping. Next time I checked, Friday Evening down to £800,000 so bought some Serena who was rising to try to get near to £1mill before tomorrow. Looked this morning and its down to £600,000.

Now I'm not comnplaining because what i was actually worried about was being kneecapped and that won't happen, but I don't know how we can realistically play the game anymore without being logged in all day every day. I think I might start selling all my stock before logging off if I'm going to be away for more than a few hours.. dividends are a thing of the past!

They have so overdone it, look at the top movers of the last hour - there arn't any. No-one is moving upwards. We had Arnie blip upwards then Beyonce blip upwards, but now the are down and there is no-one worth buying. I have sold loads of shares and won't buy into anything yet, as its all too easy to hit zero at the mo.

They never bothered putting out the dividend list this week, so how are we to work out who might be worth buying for dividends?

Its like they have given up, they can't even be bothered to update the BB crowd when someone gets evicted.

Even the hamster who sometimes appears on the front page would be doing a better job than this. I am waiting for a confirmation e-mail, then I will be spouting my opinion on all this on there message boards. But even that is a long time coming.

They sure know how to take out all the fun from a game

Agreed.

The BB de-listings had enough effect to make them change things, maybe this will too but I've already sold everything and stopped playing. Pity I cant cash in the little yacht.

I quite like the newdaq, it's exciting when the leader changes and you can still make 100's of % rise if you're a Lert.
I'm hoping to be in the top 30 tomorrow, with a bit of luck smiley - bubbly

It's true the system is exhibiting a repeating pattern trend at the moment, but this is because of the behaviour of a large group of individuals acting as a group. Without changing the rules, this could easily slip into a more diverse erratic pattern over the coming weeks and months. People who can't afford the time to be loggesd in all the time watching the fastest riser are already searching for alternative strategies, and when they start to act as another group, then we shall see a number steady risers worth habging on to for good dividends as well. It takes time for the behaviour to shift, I don't think the rules should be changed again until after a considerable period of testing time.

Something seems to have changed.

There doesn't seem to have been a market announcement, so I'm not sure if the system has changed, but I does seem to be operating as it once did.

I left a lot of money in Arnie all week, and he just kept going up.

Which was nice.smiley - smiley

Yep, we have move than one riser at a time, which brings back the game element, as opposed to just making sure you have the one riser, which was boring.

I made a packet on Arnie, what with his new film and him being over here promoting it, and running for the Senate and all..........

I'm so pleased I never sold Serena Williams' smiley - racket1shares, she is in the Top 5 and I haven't seen her in the papers at all!smiley - yikes

I logged in to sell my shares in Nush, which almost doubled since last week, but they're still rising, and my total worth is 1.1 million so I'm going to be knee-capped anyway.

I'm on a different pc, and have lost all my bookmarks, would some nice, kind person please give me the url to the h2g2crew?
