It is not fair that google is closing access to their emails because of a lack of a mobile phone, even though they have the correct log in details. There used to be a time when you could use preselected codes to verify your email account but not anymore. There should be an alternative for those who don’t have a mobile phone.

They say that is to prevent emails being hacked but that was a rarity. I wonder if this is away of forcing people to buy mobile phones. No one thinks about the security concerns of giving social media organisations your mobile number or the high amount of scam adverts shown on YouTube. It does not stop spam/phishing emails coming into your inboxes or dubious friend requests who either impersonating another YouTuber or Instagram account. I have been getting middle added and older men trying to chat me up and I know of incidents where they end up asking the woman to pay for the airline ticket to meet them which is a scam as ithey have no intention of meeting them.

This doesn't sound good. A nuisance. Isn't there someone in town hall or the like who could assist you getting that email account up and running again?
