wanted nearly new bed sattee, if its for free, and long enough to sprawl on, jobs a goodun lol.
--
dont worry im not touting for one lol, its time i gave up climbing the stairs at night,, and then back down in the morning. not doing any favours with my legs and back.
-
so ive decided im going to look for a bed settee, and do away with the old 3 settee i have now.
-
as i said i dont use the bedroom only to sleep in, and there are about 14 steps to climb at night.
-
i always pay the bills on time now, so the extra i get in nov, some i can use to get the bedsette. and if and when rats leaves in jan, to get married, i can shut the top half down, or maybe a mate will use the top rooms, im not ready to go the chairlift way just yet, jim

Jim, be careful buying a bed settee. i want one too, but most of them are designed for purely occasional use, and I think would wear out quite quickly if used daily. I am still thinking about it for that reason.
If anyone knows different, please tell us.

hi websailor
-
the settee i have now, as already gone underneath, and i had to reinforce to use, so any bedsettee will be lots better for me in the meantime.
-
its will beat having to climb the stairs at night, sometimes im shattered for being out all day

I know the feeling. My settee is collapsing too!! I would love a big plush squashy one - what bliss, but I am not sure the budget will run to it with yours.

Hi Jim,
This brings back memories when I was a student in your lovely country. I slept in a bed-settee for at least three years.
Good luck,

hi
-
i need to rethink my sleeping upstairs now, my legs are not working as good, and it was only a few weeks ago my back decided to give on me yet again.
-
so as i only use the bedroom to sleep the bedsettee in the front room downstairs is better for me in the longrun jim

Hi Jim
I have been looking at Argos and they have both sofabeds and futons.
There are chairs that can turn into beds and the cheapest sofabeds are £129. I have got sette that you can take the arms off and turn into a bed but it is not a proper sofabed.

A bed settee is probably the best option, but I have just had a thought. Have you considered moving your bed downstairs?
It depends on the size of your living room, and whether you need a settee for when you have visitors round. Just an idea .

hi nige
-
you will have heard of
-
"the little engine that could"
-
thats the way i look at it.
-
since 2000 or there abouts, ive be registered as "incapasitated" so not as disabled.
-
i can still get around under my own steam, all be it the boiler is getting a bit old now lol
-
if i brought the bed down, it would be like saying its the end of getting about, i have a stick, but havent used it once yet
-
with a bedsette, i can open at night, use in the daytime as a settee, so in my mind im still not ready to say, time to stop doing the usual things.
-
i could, as the room is big enough to get a transit van in lol, have a normal sette and a bed
-
but once i bring a bed in, its like giving in to me, and i aint ready to throw in the towel.
-
hope this makes sence. jim

yep for once bradford as given us something for nothing,
-
i used it yesterday, and i couldnt beleive how many that got on in the interchange, atually ask, how much, i know the driver, and he said, he had lost count of the ones that wanted to know ,how much, it says freebuss, on the bus, and the opening, on boards and things all over the place, and still some ask the question, how much lol jim

SD HA Posted Oct 5, 2008
That must have been quite a comic situation. Maybe, no one believed they were getting something free.
Jim, if I send you an e-mail now, is it accessible?

I understand fully Jim . A bed settee sounds like the best option, and by keeping your bed upstairs you can always use it when having a good day and are able to climb the stairs.
My double bed is electric, with a memory foam mattress. About a year ago, my physio said that I needed an electric one with a special mattress as my spine is slowly getting worse. The waiting list for one off the social services was 20 years! .
In the finish, as I needed one urgently, a charity raised enough money to buy me one . It is brilliant and although my spine hasn't got any better, it usually guarantees me a decent nights kip .
It still took a few months to finally go through, and as always there were problems along the way. It was worth it though .
