Secretly Not Here Any More

I've just added the dry hops to my third batch of homebrew. After a little taste, it reminds me a bit of Newcastle Brown Ale, but with a bit of a tang that only seems to appear in homebrew that uses big tins of malt extract.

Anyway, here's the recipe.

3kg Amber Malt Extract
450g Crystal Malt
225g Toasted Malted Barley
56g Fuggles Hops (Boil)
21g Cascade/Golding Hop Mix (Finish)
21g Cascade/Fuggles Mix (Dry Hopping)

Toast malted barley & steep w/ crystal malt at 180C for 30 mins
Sparge, add extract & boiling hops
Boil for 60m
Add finishing hops for 60 seconds
Sparge into bucket with enough water for 19l
Add yeast, leave it 10 days
Add Dry Hops, leave another week
Bottle
Condition for 3-4 weeks
Drink

The gravity is higher than I'd like, as it seems to be stuck at 1.020. This has happened to every beer I've made. Hopefully in a week, it'll drop a bit and be stronger.

Beer is now in bottles. Thanks to my superb bottling technique, I lost two litres (!!) to wastage. smiley - sadface
