'V' signs are vulgar?
Nikevsign Started conversation Jan 3, 2009
In our commercial world, how long til our gestures and behaviour will be targeted by Big Business? Could a humble 'V' sign be subverted from a negative to a positive - or from the ultimate war-time symbol of defiance to just a brand?
How long til our kids come home and greet us with an 'M' (induced by clever marketing at their local fast-food joint). And 'the finger'. Obscene now, but for how long?
School and parental guidance will soon be subverted by the Brands, and what's unacceptable now will be undermined. Just look at the role-models (Rooney et al).
If we dont have a say in this 'nikev' phenomena, give them a gesture at least. Check out: www.nikev.co.uk, and take back what's ours (like it or not!).

Giving people the finger is fun. :]
But in all seriousness, is a peace-sign really what's keeping you from sleeping at night?

This looks like a piece of viral marketing to me. Look at the bloke's username - and he's signed up to make that one post designed to stir people into action and create some controversy at that Nike site.
Not particularly well thought out or effective marketing like, but probably marketing nonetheless.

That'd be the reversed peace sign that he's referring to.

Unsurprisingly, there's quite a good entry on it.
