I've finally managed to get my garden to the stage, where there is something in flower; every month of the year.
The hardest part was finding plants that flower through the winter. I did'nt just want one solitary plant with a couple of lonely flowers. I wanted several different types of plants, adding colour and interest through the winter months. I found 3 Viburnums, Tinus, Bodnatense and Candissimum. They all have different blooms and flower from November through to March. Cyclamen coum and Hederifolium added touches of pink and white at ground level. Lonicera (Winter sweet) with its small white bells, flowered from January through to March, with Skimmias in bud all through the winter.
I'm pleased with the results, though there is always room for improvement.

that sounds fantastic, I'm glad you managed to have such a wonderrful garden throughout the year, most gardens look just desolate in winter

Ah HAH!!! So that's the typing that was distracting you.
I'm sure that you are pleased and proud of the garden you are continuously building. And have every right to be, because it all comes from your own talents, tastes, labours and love.
And I know that I will be seeing pics.

Yep! You caught me!
I'm very pleased that the plan worked. I had to wait a year and take notes, just to see if there was something in flower every month.

Yes, I'd love to have some pics, but I think it's sufficient if you send them to one of us, we can forward to the other then

Nick already has some pics taken last year, if i ask him, he could forward some, if he still has them. If not i'll send some along.

Sounds like you've put in a fair lot of work Venus! Mine's pretty barren in the winter -partly because of lack of effort, but in a way I sort of like dead foliage and bare soil in Winter. Seems appropriate or something!

Hi KB.
Believe me, i had plenty of dead foliage, it took ages to rake and cut back all the dead stuff
I have to say, despite the prolonged winter, the garden has suddenly sprung into life, so much is growing...including the weeds!

Feel free to come over and do some weeding
By the way, i hope the meet goes well at the weekend and that Neal enjoys his stay.

My back won't allow me to do much weeding, I'm afraid
I really hope the weather will improve for Easter, it's so cold and rainy here at the moment

Lovely day here B'Elana. A wee sneak preview of summer I think. I walked past the nearby golf course today and it was packed - they must be determined to get a few rounds in before the weather gets back to normal!
