Lou, (Listy) Not around too much, don't be offended if I don't reply.. I'LL TRY! Started conversation Nov 25, 2003
Hey guys, tis I, the oft absent Lou. Well it's looking like I'll be absent for a bit longer but I thought that you might be missing me (unlikely ), so here is an update on my life.
Well I've applied to read Geography at Cambridge, Durham, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton. So Far I've got an interview at Cambridge (9th December) , AAB at Durham, a big mix up at Nottingham (they've swapped my course, but haven't told UCAS), BBB at Sheffield and ABB at Southampton. Which is nice.
If I get an offer at Cambridge I think Southampton will be my reserve... It looks fab, great course
Hmm, what else is happening in my life. Well I got my predicted grades - 4 A's - and my current achievement grades - 3As and a B (In English). But consider up to a month ago I didnt understand a word of Paradise Lost, methinks a B is quite good!
I'm still single but on the prowl...
I miss this place a lot but I have SO MUCH WORK! If I'm on MSN tell me off, I should be working. Well thats what I get for doing 4 subjects. But hopefully I "won't have to" take one of the exams in the summer if I pass this one in Janurary, means I have one less exam at least.
Ooooh I just finished my media project, made a music video, it was GREAT! We finished a day before the deadline (which was FIVE DAYS of shooting and FIVE DAYS of editing!) which is no mean feat! But still, good fun, we figured out between four of us we put in around 80 editing hours in four days. Not bad, huh?
And now I'm onto a new project... TELETUBBIES! Why I hear you cry. Well, why not. I have to do a critical study on CHildren and TV, and Teletubbies just happened to be there and be slightly easier than some... Should be fun.
So if I start speaking Teletubby, ignore me....
Eh oh!
Hehe, had you going for a second there
Or not.
Well, I best be off to write about why I hate multi-national companies, made all the harder by the fact that it's in French. *sigh*
But if anyone has any opinions on The Teletubbies, please please please post and tell me. It would be MUCHLY appreciated!
Byebye!
*hug*

Well, Lou, as I said in the other thread I know a producer of those films in the middle of the program, so if that's of any use then I can tell you about those films, and the Twin's opinion of them (seeing as they're in the Shoe Shine episode).
Aries, you make such a good badger

Hi Lou, nice to know you are still about.
I've been busy at work and so have not been on the net for about a fortnight, but I don't think I've been half as busy as you! I'm tired just reading about it all.
Remember, all work and no play makes Lou a dull girl, so I hope you are finding time for some fun.
For what it's worth, I think the teletubbies are adorable! They are sweet and innocent and cosy, unlike the real world.
Anyway, must go, Boss will be back any minute.
Liz

does sound exceedingly interesting except the french essay bit
all i have to say about Teletubbies is, what on earth are they teaching our nippers anyway
the sun on their world is a childs face, so our young uns will be looking directly at the sun now to see if it is the same. clever!
they spend their days bouncing around making silly noises that do not resemble any form of communication. anyone know the average age to speech development ratios for 5 years before teletubbies to now. i bet the age has risen
was this an american idea?

Aries (ACE + Badger) Posted Nov 27, 2003
I think the speech development age prior to the teletubby era (pronounced error) was around 3 years, but now, I think it's risen to about 5 or so.
Plus the fact that you can't have an intelligible conversation with anyone, including adults now. I think that has something to do with adults having to put up with the teletubbies being rammed down their throats by expectant toddlers, but still.
