... you see the *talent* of the other sports teams in Plymouth. It really really bugs me that Argyle gets so much publicity and yet, lets face it, they are terrible, both our Rugby & Basketball teams are doing so mcuh better and the media barely takes a blind bit of notice.
Plymouth Raiders basketball team are in the top league for basketball, the BBL, and yet you have to wade through pages and pages of Argyle rubbish before you get to the occasional article on basketball.

Both Albion and the Raiders have done well in recent seasons, but then so have Argyle in winning two Championships in three years.

I don't call being - at the time of writing - the 35th best team in the country particularly terrible. Every city in England has football teams aiming to compete at the highest level, so it's comparatively much harder to make your way in.

As far as Rugby Union goes, excluding the London clubs, there are only about eight or nine cities that really try bothering to succeed at Rugby Union. So being near the top of the second division isn't particularly impressive. And as for basketball, if a team from somewhere the size of Chester can finish top of an eleven team league then there doesn't appear to be too much competition for that either.
