What? What? What?
Is someone confused here?
One would think that this comment came from a professed atheist.
I almost said 'irrational atheist', but that would be tautological, would it not?

I am such an atheist, but I value the ideals of an !!interesting!! story, unlike the professed catholic, I almost said "too serious of a catholic" but that would be actually tautologic, would it not?

I'm not a Catholic and I found this /REFLECTION/ (no, it's not a story) quite interesting. It's about Catholics, and for people interested in Catholic issues.
And what do you expect - Catholics to ignore their church? Not being serious about what they say? Would you rather they be insincere?

Touche' . (Accents don't seem to be high on Solaris' list of priorities.) But they have every right to worship as they wish - or indeed to comment on the organisation of their own church. And this is quite a valid place to do so. Be reasonable, there are far less riveting things in the guide than this - some of them have made it to the EG! (And the first person touch is fine, if you ask me.)
Though I suppose you have a right to your own opinion.

Are you two guys related, apart from the odd 'r'?
Jodan - Ohio never sounded boring to me when I was growing up ... technicolour films, great river, wonderful music "on the banks of the Oh-io". Made a wonderful impression in the mind of a wee lad in the Broadway Cinema, Falls Road, Belfast.
I reckon that Ohio and Belfast are great places, for those who want to live there. I love where I live - http://www.ardglass.org reflects the reality - but it too can be boring, whenever I am in a bored frame of mind.
I suppose what I am saying is that boredom, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Well said!
Oh, um, perhaps you made a rather bad impression when you entered the '...God: Fact, or Fiction' thread starting out with the phrase you did. Maybe you could remedy this? Some of us actually wish that the nature of God could be discussed /outside/ the pub...
We're not related, though I was quite suprised to see the similarities. It confused be briefly, I now identify our postings through grammar!

Ohio is a great place to raise children and have a job and all sorts of dependable, normal things, like water towers, parks and suburbia, and that's all wonderful, but I'm afraid it isn't exciting in the least
