Today I dropped by the local brewery and the owner at least half-seriously suggested I come in tomorrow and brew several thousand litres of his best seller because his new brewmaster wasn't going to be around and they were getting really short
and,
about ten minutes later my neighbour called over the fence to ask if she should give my name to a magazine she's been writing for because they're looking for more writers.
Opportunity must be bruising its knuckles on my door.

I always have time for one end of the brewing process . . .
But jumping from making 23 litre batches with a fairly clear recipe and jury-rigged equipment to making a 5000 litre batch with fairly sophisticated equipment and what is likely a very vague, hand-written recipe . . .
I think I'll check out what writing assignments come my way.

Send opportunity in this direction. I have some cotton wool and a tonne of sympathy.

Just found the email about the possible writing gig. Editor wants to see some of my writing. Since I'm out of town, I can't send any of my real writing, so I sent some links to some of my hootoo stuff, and a promise to forward some scholarly work when I get home. I'm not sure if I'll send any poetry or artist's statements.
