Interesting, anhaga, I was in high school before I realized everyone did not believe in God or believe the bible and that the bible was written to teach us how to be good to each other. I didn’t realize I was naïve. I didn’t know that the bible was put together from stories, tales, fables, folklore, myths and a number of talented scribes or writers with vivid imaginations. The Kings James Bible written as a comprise between the Christian faiths of that time and promising to be a financial windfall to whomever could get to press first with a bible that could be accepted by all concerned. It is a masterful work. It has spawned, propped up, and has been the religious authority for numerous Christian denominations and governments throughout our history from the early 1600’s. The King James Bible, once accepted by the ruling clergy, has given rise to man’s distrust, hatred, and a cruelty previously unknown by civilized man. It has been a fraud forced on humanity, a compromise in the telling of these stories and folklore to please a divided clergy, a myth that grew out of the large profits of the large profits to be made from its printing and acceptance. In short, it is nothing less than a masterpiece.
Then there’s that language of that bible, a language not in common use by layman of that period, but if one removed thee’s and thou’s, it was a color, flowery language, none the less. I think it was W. Somerset Maugham, however, who said the worst thing to ever happen to the English language was the King James Bible. I leave that to your discretion.
It is not, I think, the religions spewed forth from the bible or the holy writ from other cultures that causes us to be good or bad. It is rather our own individual environments and our own DNA that molds our personalities and causes us to be good or bad.
As for dinosaurs, I don’t know why people don’t believe in them or what good it would do them if they did. All I know is what killed them off; cigarettes. They just smoked to much and it finally got to them.
Thanks for introducing an interesting sublect not much discussed.

Hey, a very interesting thread and thank you all very much.
Sorry I got here so late but I'll see what I can do to keep it going.

Well, I heard it was the iridium bomb.
Apparently that's the only explanation for the 'iridium layer' which appears in the geology all round this planet. It's about 65 million years down in the (undisturbed) dirt just before you get to the 'dinosaur bones'.

from what I understand, the "iridium layer" is a geological level with unusual (for earth's surface) levels of iridium. The level in the layer is not inconsistent with the level for the entire earth, it's just unusual for the surface. It is also consistent with the percentages in asteroids, which is what led to the idea of it being an asteroid impact that made the layer.
You weren't meaning an actual 'bomb' in the sense of artificially created device, were you ~jwf~
