from 11 am to about 5:30 pm today I took a photo about every ten minutes as I was going about town. Just an experiment.
If anyone is interested (maybe those who've never been here might be), the results are here: http://public.fotki.com/anhaga/a_day_well_a_good/

I should perhaps mention that, despite the apparent rural scenery of many, all of the photos were taken within the urban heart of Edmonton.

Excellent! I have not been to Edmonton, so this is great.

Very cool!
I am saving up for a digital camera. I have a film camera but it is large and clunky to tote around, and the light meter broke, so you have to use a hand held light meter.

I used my Palm Zire 71. The resolution is crappy, but it's very handy. Plus, it plays mp3s. And does wordprocessing.
I'm working on putting a map in to show roughly the route.

Canada? Right there in the Northern half of North America. Between Greenland and that other place.

The map I was adapting is here: http://www.edmonton.com/documents/webimages/MapMetroEdmonton.gif
The little journey started out in the North West, where the Fort Road (black) turns into the Manning Freeway (yellow). The first part of the journey was from the Clairview LRT station to the University of Alberta (with a stop downtown for a particularly bad lunch) and back again to Clairview.
Then came a drive down the Fort Road to Wayne Gretzky Drive, across the river and south on 75th street. We turned west on 82nd Avenue (Whyte Avenue until we got home (about 99th Street).
The next leg was west on Whyte to 109th street, South to 72nd Avenue (which isn't on the map), West on 72nd to Belgravia and Fox Drive, under the Quesnell bridge to Fort Edmonton Park.
The final leg was a complicated north on the Whitemud Freeway to 149th Street, East on 87 Avenue and then winding along the edge of the River Valley parks back north to 102nd Avenue and Jasper Avenue and back home down Mcdougall Hill, across the Low Level Bridge, up Scona Road and 99th Avenue (most of which aren't labled on the map).
If someone has the patience to follow all that on the map, they'll see that, in fact, we were always in the heart of urban edmonton.

It would be a shame to have to delete all those treasured family photos to put up other photos.

Sorry, HBFJ, I was teasing. The link in my joke post is to the edited entry on Edmonton.
And, yes, Mudhooks, as I mention on my PS, sometimes I feel like my shadow's casting me. Fortunately, the sun was shining very brightly today (driving one Mountie I know into the tub in his longjohns, for goodness sake.)

I knew you were teasing. I didn't go to the link you thoughtfully provided though cause I thought it was going to be "Canada" If I'd a done that, I'd a not had to ask again.

I am wondering is, to quote Mae West, "goodness had nothing to do with it."

It was very warm today. And the sun was very bright, compromising the (already low) quality of some of the pictures.
I must get to bed, I'm afraid. Well, I'm not afraid. It's not like I have nightmares or anything. It's just that I must apologize because it is, in fact, past my bedtime.
