I take it from your name you like Othello? I'm quite a fan myself, and i'd have to say "honest" iago is definately the coolest character, although Micheal Cassio is not without charm

I think its just brilliant the way Shakespeare nailed human nature and jealousy so perfectly. I think Iago is literature's best villain because he is so weak and yet he destroys everyone. My heart went out to Emilia though, I really liked her, it was so tragic

I never really liked Emelia, not sure why. I didnt like Othello either, he was such a fool to distrust Desdemona so easily. I was glad Cassio survived tho, he was very loyal

I think Emilia's major flaw was that she wasn't forceful enough. If she'd voiced her suspicions about Iago then people would have been more cautious, not beliving blindly in 'Honest Iago' I didn't dislike Othello, one of the real beauties of the play is that his behaviour is realistic. We may not admit it but we leave ourselves open to this sort of manipulation all the time. Cassio was a good guy, I sympathise with him, I don't drink and people have tried to get me drunk 'for a laugh' and he always proved why he was the Lieutenant, loyal, noble and intelligent
