Hooray for someone else who likes Peterborough! And yes, there is culture, plenty of it. A wonderful Cathedral, excellent little theatre, a brilliant College of Adult Education that runs all kinds of groups, classes and dayschools, choirs, dramatic groups... everything! Plus it's flat and has loads of cycle paths, and a decent public transport network... and housing is pretty cheap and you can get to London in 40 minutes. What more could the sane person ask for?
