On Saturday I completed my 50th Parkrun. This means that I have qualified for a Red Shirt (once the change of sponsors has been finished and they start issuing them in June).
As a bona fide Red Shirt, I can only assume it means that I am now eligible to go on Away Missions in the original series of 'Star Trek' and die horribly.

Let's hope that you are not a red-shirt from the Original Series, but instead are a commanding officer from Next Generation

In my experience of driving my offspring to parkruns (it's exhausting watching all those people, I can tell you) I can't remember anyone ever receiving or wearing a special red shirt. They announce the 50 and 100 club newbies each week, and people clap their hands (any excuse to keep warm)

I think it very much depends on the individual parkrun. When I started last year it seemed that about two thirds of the people running had the red or black t-shirts, but the number of runners has gone up by about 70 people since then. When I did my first run at a different park (in Leeds) I was surprised to see that only a handful of runners seemed to have them.

They also stopped giving them out (I think they stopped back in November?) when Addidas stopped sponsoring them. This means that anyone who has earned a t-shirt since then hasn't got one, and apparently won't get it until around May/June. So there'll probably be a huge inundation of t-shirt wearers around then. Of course, by the time I get my Red Run t-shirt I may even have earned my 25+ Volunteer t-shirt...
