Finally I went on a bike ride to Sandown, Isle of Wight and back along National Cycle Route 23 with The Fish - something I've been trying to arrange since March. It was a really enjoyable bike ride - the details are that we travelled 52.11 miles in 4 hours 29 minutes riding time giving an average speed of almost 12mph with a maximum speed of 29.5mph (not counting the time on the ferry, visiting friends, photograph stops and the time spent eating the ice cream). Now I just have to persuade him to come along for the remaining 54 miles from Eastleigh to Reading.
