Your name caught my attention and reminded me that tomorrow (Thursday!) I will also have been 8 for 13 years. I'll have to remember that and tell everyone that. smiley - smiley Basically I'm bouncing around people's pages this morning and wanted to say hi to someone with an interesting name. So hi smiley - winkeye

Well, as long as you didn't spend the weekend with some friends on the Isle of Wight, we should be fine smiley - winkeye

I did, thanks - and I hope you did too. I didn't see any snow at all smiley - sadface
So, you like science fiction, then? I've read books by Stephen Donaldson, Arthur C. Clarke, Asimov, John Wyndham and Terry Pratchett - how about you? What authors do you enjoy reading?

I'll give you some of the snow here....we had about 8 inches in 24 hours. Quite lovely, but bad when you wish to go some place. smiley - smiley Now that you've mentioned authors I think I lean more in the direction of science fiction/fantasy. The ones that I can remember right off my head are Ursula LeGuin, Madeline L'Engle, and some Clive Barker. It's been so long since I got to read an actual book that I wanted to instead of one that was assigned to me that I've almost forgotten what it is that I like. smiley - winkeye

I'd like to see that much snow - just for the experience smiley - winkeye
I've read a little of Ursula LeGuin - "The Word for World Is Forest" and "The Left Hand Of Darkness", I was quite impressed. I plan to read the "Earthsea Trilogy" one day, once I get the last book. Stephen Donaldson's not bad for fantasy as well as science-fiction - a lot of what he writes as short stories are better than his novels - if you can find his anthologies "Reave The Just" and "Daughter Of Regals" cheaply, I recommend them. smiley - smiley I've always needed to read a book - I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't read something each day!
