Gosh - it's really quiet in here these days.
Maybe I'm just not subscribed to the busy threads - or maybe everyone's gone on holiday - but sometimes more than an hour goes by without any new postings.
Perhaps it's Bob's way of telling me to get off my bum and go and do some gardening or housewo*k

Nawww, gardening in this heat - are you mad, woman ?
Hootoo is always quiet in summer, which was one of the reasons I volunteered for all the new jobs i have now - and believe me, they're keeping me so busy that I don't mind that it's quiet

Would be participating more but am busy googling the MMR vaccine at the mo'. Can't decide whether to go ahead and get it done or go for the separates. There is so much info to plod through.

It's difficult to decide, but once you've known a child that had rheumatic fever as a side effect of measles, and one that had encephalitis, the statistics aren't that comforting anymore. Result: both my boys had the MMR vaccine.
Lady Chattingly Posted Jul 30, 2006
Hi Teuchter, It's 5:00 am here and I can't sleep so here I am checking to see what the other hootooers are doing.
Definitely go for the MMR. There was a mumps outbreak here in the midwest this spring. There also seems to be a resurgence of whooping cough.
Hot here too. No gardening for me today.
Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Jul 30, 2006
Hi Teuchter, I seem to be less involved in conversations these days, like B'Elana, am immersed in my volunteer work and writing entries.
The MMR, um, don't get me started, but there is a H2G2 article on it: A970742
Fiona Posted Jul 30, 2006
I had my MMR when I was in Primary 3, and I'm absolutely fine. Doesn't hurt or anything. (Or, maybe our nurse was just very gentle...)
Tabitca Posted Jul 30, 2006
my daughter got pneumonia after the MMR and now has permanent lung damage. She is now not allowed to have vaccinations of any kind on medical grounds.
Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Jul 30, 2006
I can't face a discussion on the MMR, living as I am with a mildly-autistic son, and I *still* don't know whether the MMR was the cause or not, but I'm living with the guilt anyways.
Sorry Teucher

No need to un-sub, GB
Interesting conversations are interesting - wherever you find them - and topic drift is fine by me.

Hi T - the sun is shining without it being punnishingly hot so hardly surprising folks are out enjoying it
I've just woken from a lunchtime snooze Looove weekends when I can just sleep whenever I need to!
Famous_Fi Posted Jul 30, 2006
Sorry didn't mean to start a discussion, please don't unsub GB.
I wish I could sleep during the day.....I just wake up feeling worse. Must be great to have a nap
tartaronne Posted Jul 30, 2006
I would love to nap or go gardening or just have some time not filled with chores and a mind filled with updating lists - remember this, don't forget that, do write it down - and maybe time parts of the assignments differently, and besides deadlines there is also housework ad infintum....*sigh*
I'm stealing this time now, amen't I .

But don't be like me and feel obliged to read and comment intelligently on every word - and then feeling bad for not having time to pay attention to each and everyone .

It always seems to get very quiet here during the summer: it picks up again when college is back in September.
