Bit of an odd question, I'm sure...

...but what actually *was* Leisure District? How did it become affiliated with H2? I assume it was a chat site of some kind?
It's just that there seem to be references to it everywhere, which is no bad thing in itself, but I have no idea where they are coming from!

Hi... Leisure District was a wide scale chat and well Leisure site for people of all ages... like h2g2... but when Ld closed (and even before it closed) people from Ld had found h2g2... and decided that some of the influence from LD could be used on here...
But this site isn't LD... as LD was pretty "corrupt" and not a friendly place...]
So people who tired of Ld... came on here... and well... brought some of their friends from Ld with them... and their friends brought their friends and so on...
Hope this was helpful for you... probably not...

I am a little clearer about it was now, although still unsure why H2 is such a popular destination for LD'ers, not having, on the face of it, much in common. But the Net belongs to everyone in it, I suppose...

It's because both sites were accessible through the cable set-top box. I don't know about not having much in common though, LD had forums too.
