9.22pm
i have been lying on the couch watching tv, but the back door is open and i can smell that rich green scent that is the summer as evening deepens. cool and moist (not the dry warmth of late summer), lifting the breath of fragrant honeysuckle and rose.
earlier i had to go out and retrieve the pillow and rug from the lawn. there were people on the street walking slowly past and they looked up and saw me. as i returned to the house i felt the total beauty of this place where i live. and so much gratitude for this - that it is so beautiful, and that i live here. i haven’t felt gratitude for a long time.
i am grateful for my gratitude
i have brought the laptop out to the porch to write. its the time of day when birds are on the move. a distant bellbird is calling its repeating chime . . .
another bird sound, an unusual one for here - honking.
i look up,
elongated necks elegant wingstroke
black against the sky
3 swans flying.

That was a really beautiful discription. I always feel a bit shy and strange butting in to things, but I just wanted to say that that was truely lovely. Are you a writer type? I´m always searching.

hi friend of fish,
thank-you for your thoughts. its fine to jump in. i wasn't sure about posting antipodean summer 2, but i decided to do it for myself, as i wanted to make a reminder of that moment. thats sweet for me that someone else enjoyed it too.
am i a writer type ? probably. writer with a small 'w'
i do write a lot, but not usually for other people. one of the big attractions for me about h2g2 was it not just being a very cool online community, but that it also fosters writing.
have you been here long ?

I´ve been here maybe two weeks, so not too long. A few of my friends introduced me. I think it´s all great, a lot because one gets to talk to a lot of people from all over. Not only does it foster writing, it has a standered for writing, which is good.
How long have you been here?

since christmas day. i was looking for quite a while before that, reading lots of threads. i'm finding it harder to find conversations i'm interested in now as compared to last week. not sure why though.

nah, the last couple of days have been busy. and the lull gave me a chance to go look further abroad within h2g2. there is so much there to explore.
swings and roundabouts.
i've only got a couple of other places online where i hang out. this place is the most stimulating for sure.
