I noticed today that the two doves, who made a nest in the tree at the front of the house, have returned again this year, and made their nest in the exact same place as last year.
Which I thought was great, but the thing is, their nest seems to be easily reached by all the neighbourhood cats?
I only hope that they get left alone this year, as last year I was constantly chasing the cats away, as they tried to climb up to get to the nest.
I think it worked last year, as I did see a youngster pop it's head over the edge of the nest.
I've also noticed that we have a hedgehog who seems to wander between my garden and the one next door. I've often seen it late at night when I pop out the front door for a smoke.
The first sign was his droppings on the grass at the back of my garden, then I heard it one night, while he was foraging in the foliage, then I saw him casually making his way across the open grass, to the bushes at the other side.
Then I noticed a low spot in the grass at the side of my shed in the garden, which is where he stays during the day. So, I will keep an eye out for any more signs of wild life in my wee back garden.

That sounds lovely Smudger. It is cold, windy and wet here but the birds are paired up, the are still coming and there are foxes too, but sadly most of them have Mange which is not a pretty sight.
Spring flowers are all out too but getting a bit battered.
Hope you are feeling a bit better too.

Aye! The bluebells at the front of the house are trying to bloom, but this cold and wet spell, has knocked them all for six?

Seems we are not alone after all Smudger
I am sorry I haven't been around much as I have been busy helping a disabled friend move flat and settle in, quite an undertaking for him but definitely worth it.
I need to do some catching up but by the time I get home I am too CCd to do much except tea and TV when I doze off
I hope the lighter nights and Spring are helping you, though it is still chilly down here, but humid today for a change.
Take care,

I've contacted my sister recently, and we have been on face time every night for the last couple of weeks.
We lost touch 25 years ago, over my divorce from my first wife, but after what I've been through in the last few months, I needed an ally in my corner.
They, ( my sister and her husband) are coming over from Holland to see me soon, and are going to pack all my late wife's clothes and things for me, as I've never managed to do it myself, despite a few attempts.

They will be here on the 18rh of June, then I'm going back with them, too stay for a few days, then catch a flight back to Edinburgh.
I'm really looking forward to it, as I've not had a holiday in over 20 years! Just the thought of it has boosted my spirit way up.

Yea! I will,
I was talking with some old shipmates during the work party reunion, and telling them about what my late wife's family did to me just before and after her passing, they found it very hard to believe?
In fact, they were shocked, yet I found talking to them about it, made me feel a but better, must be because I was sharing it, and getting it off my mind.

Gouda, that's where my sister has lived since the 70s, they had a flat at first, then moved into a house a few years ago.
I haven't seen it yet, but my sister showed me around with her web cam, it looks great, a lot more space the they had in the flat.
