We (our lad and myself)have just completed a complete upgrade of this old desk top computer of mine, which was on its last legs. I have had for around 7 years now, and despite spending time and money tying to keep it going the mother board coughed its last gasp, and died no me?
Was going to give the details, but think I will wait and see if I can do a Snippet on it, as it might help other folk if I give more details. yet I can say its running like a dream now!

Ah! thanks for that Christine, the thing is now that I have got the desk top back up and running, Mk2 now has her eyes on the lap top for playing her favourite game, Bejeweled!
Yet I bought her a small note book for Christmas, mid you the screen on that is a bit small to see? Thanks again

Hi Jim, good to hear from you again, where have you been hiding?
I heard on the radio today that Barnsley are aiming to get "everyone" on line by 2012, that's quite an achievement if they manage it
Also, Radio 2 has a computer phone in, trying to help people out with getting more our of their computer, as they said that a lot of folk are using their computers like type writers?
I think that getting a computer and going on line with it, was one of the best things Ive done in my life, well along with meeting Mk2 that is

Ah! with you now, I wasn't quite sure what you meant there. Pity about not being able to stay in for long periods though.

Hi Jim, It looks like you could do with a new computer, then you could be on line any time you want.
I got Mk2 one of those Note Books at Christmas, it does everything a computer can do, except it does not have a Disc Drive.
She cam surf the Internet, write documents, send and receive Emails and so on, and I got it for £199 from Argos.
Its a handy wee thing, and since I increased the size of the text for her, she can use it better now. Worth a look see, Eh!

Yea! I have a H2G2 T shirt as well, I cant remember why, I think it was a competition?
So are you going to buy a note book then? It would be ideal for your surfing, and not all that expensive
