Well we have gone ahead and done, switched over from Virgin to Sky, after weeks of debating about it. In the end it was all down to the amount to H/D (High Definition)TV, as just now we only have one H/D Channel and that is mostly preview? Whereas with Sky we will have 31 channels of H/D and two more added every month. That and the fact that our Phone/Internet is free with the deal.Anyone else changed over recently?

Hi Smudger,
We have the TV and free internet with Sky as well and are now seriously considering having the phone with them too as BT keeps sneaking up its pricing.
Spouse wants HD and of course a new TV to go with it. It's always the latest gadget with you men!

Hi Jules, I was told that Sky has its own phone lines now, that's why they can offer free Any Time Talk and free Internet. We wont get that for a while until our area is upgraded, so we will have what they call Sky Connect, at 4Meg which goes up to 8Meg after the area upgrade.
Yea! I am right into gadgets, my next one will be an I/Pod for Mk2, as she already has an MP3 player, I think this new digital age is fantastic

Jim, I was wondering about the line - maybe Smudger is correct, will have to do some research.
I'm not very techno-advanced, no MP3 or I-pod here and a very old mobile phone!
I know our Sky broadband capacity (if that's the right term) is not very big as it's free. It means I'm not allowed on Second Life anymore, which I used to enjoy
Very nice to catch up with you, Smudger, been ages since I looked at your joke thread, which is where our paths used to cross. I don't think Jim and I have ever communicated before, although I believe I used to read his pieces in - involved dogs I think.

Hi Jules, I think all them hard drives can hold about 20 hrs of H/D or 80 hrs of normal TV. I know this V+ H/D records all the time, so that you can rewind live TV, then erases it, but you can still have 160Gb of space to record onto
Anyway, it is good to hear from you again

Well since the switch over we have enjoyed the extra H/D channels and the host of extra ones that we now have with Sky. The only thing that has spoiled everything is the poor Internet connection
We have had nothing but trouble with, and have spent literally hours o the phone to them (just as well those calls were free?)
I am still only getting around 1.2Meg Download speed, but even that's better then the .5 Meg I was getting? Should be around 3.7Meg with their Sky Connect service, (we cant get Broadband until our exchange goes digital)
So, I am not a very happy bunny just now, so I am spending hardly any time on line just now, as its so s l o w
