if there is any team in history that deserves to have the book thrown at them for misconduct and bringing the game into disrepute i believe after Arsen*ls oerfirmance today, it should be them.
fine em, ban em, deduct points and kick em out the league.
they were disgusting today. as a football fan, i am infuriated by their pack animal behaviour after todays draw at Old Trafford. at the final whistle 4 or 5 Arsen*l players decided it would be a good idea to ATTACK Van Nistleroy! yes ATTACK! the punched him in the bag and pushed him. they looked like an unruly sunday league rugby team with rabies.
if the FA doesn't charge them and ban their players involved for at least 2 months i will be shocked. it was truly disgusting!

As a Man Utd fan I too was appalled at the treatement Van Nistleroy got!
He resisted temptation of a retaliation after being nearly kicked after a foul & then as the final whistle went Keown shoved him from behind, in what only can be discribed as a childish jeer, that started off the other players "having a go" with Ray Parlour punching him in the stomach
Arsenal are beyond no doubt the most aggressive team in the premiership, & have been fined in the past for the amount of red cards the team has previously recieved!
Creachy I agree, this behaviour CANNOT be tolerated! I watch Rugby League to watch a bit of scrapping, but i watch football to see a bit of skill & class.
Oh my, how times have changed!!

Excuse me don't compere Rugby to football please, rugby is a game for hooligans played by gentlemen, football is a game for overpayed brats.
In rugby union the incident in question would have been delt with this way Viera AND Van Nistleroy would have been sent off, both would have been banned for a month, they could have appealed to the RFU, if successful the ban would have been overturned, if the appeal failed the ban would have been doubled, same goes for the punch up afterward all participants would have been hauled infront of the RFU and punished accordingly, but in the spirit of Rugby players everywhere they'd have been drinking together in the bar after the match.
And friends this story is true, I know I've seen it happen.
Also Players who abuse the referee are punished too, the maximum for verbal abuse is a seasons ban, for physical abuse it's a life ban But this is VERY rare. In rugby the ref's are called sir by the players (even the female refs)
I've never felt threatened by a group of Rugby supporters either

I'm not disputing what you just stated about Rugby UNION, but never in my life have I seen or heard a Rugby LEAGUE player call the ref "sir" More like "T*ss*r"

I never understood League, I once saw Wigan play Bath in a clash of the codes thing at Twickenham, I'd like to see those nancy boy footballers take on real men in a real game

When i'm watching Rugby League, I say exactly the same thing!
Footballers go down & roll around on the floor if some-one just knocks them, when Rugby League players can take 3 16stone men charging at them & tackling them!
And if people REALLY thought what they saw on the Man U V Arsenal match was a "dispute" they wanna watch some of the Super League & watch REAL MEN fight!
(not that I condone violence or anything)

And as I've said before they'll all be drinking in the bar afterwards.
I REALLY don't like footballers, I've read about what happened yesterday and it sounded like a playground squabble, when a rugby player hits someone they do it properly not bitch slap like a bunch of girlies (I don't condone violence either)

I haven't watched any Rugby league or union for ages, my ex hubby used to play union.
I'd definatly choose rugby players AND fans over footballer's and fans any day, I went to see South Africa's first match in England after the abolition of apartaid, I was in the stand surrounded by Afrikkaners, who teased me, shared the hipflasks with me and grabbed my shirt coller everytime the crowd surged forward to stop me falling over, I'd never have felt that safe at a football match, also walking home from a waitressing stint in Twickenham a passed the Cabbage Patch pub and saw 2 guys 1 in a Leicster shirt and one in a Bath shirt after the Pilkington cup final both pi$$ed propping each other up singing a rather lewd song an Eskimo Would football fans EVER do that, I think not

do you know what. i am getting sick of hearing from elitist rugby fans telling me my sport, football, is a pussies sport where as rugby is for 'Real Men'. yeah, nice ears Dumbo. only a fool would run around a pitch smashing into 16stone men, get his head pummeled then go for a drink with em afterwards. it is a caveman's sport for cavemen. it was used in private schools as a discipline achieving sport, that is the only connection to Gentleman it ever had
now back to Arsen*l (who play footbal). i bet they get away with it

Let's see if Portsmouth can make it a South Coast double, that is BEAT Man U, of course it's a regular occurance for Southampton, they tend to beat United most times they visit either The Dell or St Mary's, now what was the score that famouse time at The Dell...............oh yes 6-1
