Someone's stolen my name!

Post 1

Elentari

I found a researcher calling herself Elentari*! U1944072

I was quite shocked, to tell the truth! The only convos she seems to have, though, are in BBC Movies, so I doubt they'll be any confusion.

Feel slightly wrong-footed though.

Btw - I hope the of the discussions in Outdoor Bar hasn't scared you away. We are really quite a nice bunch of looneys. smiley - laugh And very friendly.

How odd! You would have thought that on finding Elentari to be already in use the person would have selected a name sufficiently different so as not to cause confusion. smiley - doh

Glad you mentioned it, dear - at least I'll be able to tell now that the asterisked version is not you. smiley - smiley

Hmm

Well that's interesting. But she joined in August and she's only posting on the movies message board so maybe it won't get confusing.

funny huh?

That's what I thought. You three weren't half quick in replying!

You would think she would pick something different, but I don't think it will be a problem. Just remember its not me!smiley - smiley

Tartaronne - no I've not been scared away, I just don't reall understand what you're all talking about! I'm keeping an eye on it though, and if I see something I can post about, I will!

Gnomon - time to move on

That's what you get when you pick a name from Lord of the Rings!

Try searching for Gandalf or Legolas and see how many of them there are!

It's not exactly a common name though, it's not a main character or anything. I think it's mentioned once in the appendix!

But yes, I should probably have come up with my own name!

Big name in the Silmarillion, though.

It's the Quenya version of Gilthoniel, isn't it? Means "star kindler".

I don't remember reading it in the Silmarilion. smiley - erm

Yes, it's a name for Elbereth. I think the translation given where I got it from is "Star Queen", but I suppose "Star Kindler" means pretty much the same.

By the way, Gnomon, why are you "dripping"?

It's been very wet here in Dublin over the last 24 hours or so. But I've dried off now. So I'll remove that from my nickname.
