Mick but not Keef?

Give him Pauls! He is too busy rewriting the history of the Beatles to be a proper knight. Not to denegrate his influence, but John and George were in the band too you know!

Still congrats to Micksmiley - biggrinsmiley - bubbly

I had heard grummbles about "only Paul?"
The same goes for Keef ,where would Mick be without him?

I did not know about Connery.
I would not consider a man that admits he hits women very knight- like.I like him as an actor. I like Woody Allen as a filmaker but neither seems above the norm with admirable behavior.

Is their art the main consideration then?
It's a mystery to me - this thing about knights.

Congrats Sir Mick!

I think, abbi, that both their artistic contribution as well as their representation of The Empire are taken into consideration. I mean, you certainly associate The Beatles with England & Sean Connery with Scotland (& of course his James Bond character was in the British Secret Service.)

Congrats Sir Mick!

Well, Sir Michael Jagger...that does not sound very much like a rolling stone rock´n´roll rebel, does it...smiley - sadface

Let´s hope that Keef never gets in question for a knighthood, and if he does, that he turns it down.smiley - winkeye

Well Izzybelle, tonemonkey (you haven't met - Izzybelle, tonemonkey's in The U.K., tonemonkey, Izzybelle's in Sweden-we've known each other, so to speak, for...about 8 or 9 months (?)

I think Keef has essentially refused, or at least made it quite clear some time ago, that he wouldn't accept a Knighthood if it were ever offered. In fact, a quote from Keef in the local paper(part of the article about Jagger) states "I thought it was ludicrous to take one of those gongs (awards) from the establishment when they did their very best to throw us in jail," - referring to his & Mick's '67 drug conviction which was overturned.

Izzybelle

Hello everybody, old and new friends.

Iam pleased to hear that Keef has some kind of feeling of what is apropriate, I mean to go from "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Jumping Jack Flash" to Sir Michael...
"Let me introduce myself..." Sir Mick smiley - laugh

Hello all! Yes, Izzybelle I have to agree with you...there is an oddness about it, in that sense smiley - huh ...but life is like that sometimes. smiley - erm I doubt the "Street Fighting Man" of the '60's was aspiring to anything other than keeping his head above the water.

Congrats Sir Mick!
