Hi kariblake!

Apologies for being terse on the Jesus thread although I stand on what I say.

I see you are into astrophotography.

I presume you know that Brian May from 'Queen' is into htat stuff as well. Along with stereophotography.

Look through his 'Soapbox' and you will se some great photos.

There is a photography group on h2g2.

Have a look at this page for other subject posts.

There are loads of corners of the site that I have never seen either so keep looking around. As I say you have dropped into a 'poor' thread to start on.

Best wishes,

Hi thanks for responding Iam not much into music so I didn't know about the guy you spoke of, thanks for the tip on how to find conversations I was wondering if you just hit on names and go from one to the other randomly. I will check out the photo links I work a lot at night with big blocks of nothing much on while I wait for data to process so this seemed like a good way to pass the time in between have you been doing this long

I would suggest randomly posting on other peoples spaces just to say 'I'm new' might annoy people!

You will get a message from 'an ACE' soon who will give you some much better information than I can.

Part of h2g2 is building up 'a guide' (a sort of more accurate wikipedia).

If you yearn about writing about your interests and informing others then you could do worse than looking at writing an entry about astrophotography.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/Search?searchstring=astrophotography&searchtype=goosearch&go.x=0&go.y=0

The above is a search of hootoo about the subject. Maybe you can do better!

Dear kariblake,

How nice of you to pick me. I really appreciate that.

I have been to your homepage, and I think that if you could fill it in a bit more about what you like and dislike you will certainly get a lot of "researchers" (that is the official name which we are called!!) writing to you

I have been a researcher for a very long time, and I am a very old lady. !! But I love the sky and the stars although I really do not know very much about them.

I wonder what your hobby astrophotography is. does it mean taking photographs if the night sky?

I am going to have to abandon this website very soon because this afternoon in England there us spmething called the six nations rugby tournament and England is playing Scotlamd - I think!!. although very old, I still love watching Rugby although some of the matches have been very brutal. !!

So I shall speak to you again, after the rugby matches. Last night I watched France beat wales. As both my parents were French I was very pleased about that. !!

I send you warm good wishes, and when you have an ACE who will welcome you officially I am sure that you will be very happy here.

Yours sincerely,

Dear three "dots"

I am intrigued by the fact that you joined in December 2004 yet have not yet written up about yourself. !!

I am also intrigued by the fact that you have called my thread a "poor" thread. I would love to know what it means.

anyway, I presume that you have given this newcomer good advice. I see that you have mentioned music although it seems as if she did no t mention any interest in it.

I wish you well and would like to say to you that I have found this marvellous website to be a source of tremendous friendship with all sorts of people all over the world.

I might add that when I celebrated my 75th birthday one of the "researchers" gave me a virtual birthday party and I had 250 guests from all over the world who wrote in and offered me their good wishes.

S0 I am sad that that you think this is a "poor" thread.

go well,

AlsoRan80.

Oops!

Deepest apologies.smiley - hug When I started to post on the thread I did not realise Kariblake had posted to your personal space. I meant 'poor' thread in that I was making a comment on an unrelated thread and that I should have started a new thread and that the information may get hidden!

One of the problems with on-line discussions is that an ill-chosen word can portray the wrong idea which is why it is good to challenge such comments as you did.

The reason why I haven't written myself up is...I can't bothered! I just enjoy posting and discussing in the threads. I also flounced off sometime ago as is happens with some of us and came back and didn't bother putting anything up. Even 3Dots is not my original name (Alfster). I just left my researcher number up. People complained that it was annoying as they couldn't relate to my various posts to me so I became Researcher dot dot dot.

People then started reducing this to 3Dots, or dot^3 etc so I finally gave way and have become 3Dots...which is quite apt as I use 'three dots' as a punctuation 'tic' in my posts far too much!

So design by accident.

kariblake posted on possibly the worst thread they could do so I felt duty bound to make sure they did not get scared off. Quite possibly it has meant they have now got more information about the site than if they had just pottered about.

I am really glad that you are enjoying your time on the site and that you are bringing in some wonderful, well-mannered thoughts and posts to the site!

best wishes,

...

Excuse me?

What is wrong with calling her a robust person? strong and healthy; hardy; vigorous; powerful; sound?

All thing positive things one can be?

She has said she likes good debate and conversation and she will get it here.
