Just caught first ep. of Krod Mandoon on BBC2 - I see from t'net it is a Comedy Central show that's already run. HAdn't caught on to it at all and not seen any ads on t'beeb for it.

Not exactly clever comedy but some great lines in it. And heck, we need a fantsy spoof with all the crud fantsy shows being churned out!

Methinks Matt Lucas enjoyed himself as the baddy. Overall, good camp comedy with some interesting twists, brain off and laugh type thingy. Surprisingly for me I actually watched the entire 1 hr show without channel hopping - always a positive sign I find it interesting without too many of the usual plot devices I dislike. Shall have to see how it develops.

Oh we saw that last night and I remember seeing Matt Lucas being interviewed about it a while back on Jonathon Woss' show.

At first we were just sitting there going WTF?

And then we fell about laughing. Several times. It was rather jolly in the end. smiley - ok

I'm glad you said it was the first episode, I was wondering if I'd missed half the series of this little gem.

I wasn't going to watch it because it's by the same team who produced Little Britain (which I hated). But my son had it on, and as soon as he started laughing I paid attention (I was chatting on the PC) and must admit, it was funny with some smiley - rofl moments. Loved the sneaky nods to old films even if I couldn't remember them (firing the burning arrow at the funeral boat??) and that heroine, smiley - wow I *really* like her attitude (smiley - laugh)

Best line: "Have you the energy to mount a steed?" "It depends what context you mean"smiley - rofl

Second best line: "You gave it up for the time of day? But we were standing beneath a clock!"

I'm usually out Thursdays so I didn't bother to watch it; being post watershed I'd envisaged it might be crude rather than witty but based on your comments perhaps I'll try it on iplayer!

I hadn't even heard of it before (I don't have cable, so no Comedy Central). Sounds right up my alley, I think. I'll keep an eye out for a DVD release. smiley - biggrin

No worries, it'll be out on DVD eventually on one continent or other, and my DVD player can handle all of 'em.

It really does sound entertaining, and everything Ictoan's recommended in the past has turned out to be fantastic. I especially like a good camp comedy. Or camp anything, really. smiley - winkeye

well it was crude as well - the gay lover when discussing the legend of the golden one ('less cliched way of saying the chosen one') which he had heard from his lover during their romantic sessions saying that it wasn't written down anywhere and it had been "passed to him orally. And anally."

Yes, not shy of any and all sexual situations! And I didn't like Little Britain either smiley - smiley

And many of the gags were hardly original, but set up and executed well. Especially the funeral boat scene smiley - smiley And yes, some great one liners.

Oh, yes, I usually agree with Galaxy Babe's recommendations in regards to SF. I've definitely factored your comments in, too. smiley - winkeye

Crude humor is fine with me- when I'm in a puerile mood, crude's the way to go. I like Bottom, after all.

And I didn't dislike little Britain. I'm not sorry I watched it, but I don't suppose I'd go out of my way to see it again.

just followed GBs link - that explains something - why it was 1hr when all the reviews are about a half hour show. Didn't realise they'd done two shows in one.

And I love that the iPlayer 'More shows like this' lists all the Robin Hood eps smiley - laugh - should says 'more shows this one takes the p out of'.

I wish the BBC would allow non-UK subscribers. I'd gladly pay a license fee to be able to access iPlayer. There have been a half dozen things within the last year people have recommended to me that I couldn't watch. smiley - wah

Wow, I didn't realise there were other people that didn't like Little Britain and now there's a whole thread full of them!
(although I did like one or two characters and sketches to be fair smiley - winkeye)

well that is clearly because you have a very low IQ and don't appreciate post modernist intellectual humour smiley - winkeye

I think it was one of the last good sketch shows - Mitchell and Webb being the only thing recently to follow it up - but then again I don;t tend to watch reruns of sketch shows, they only seem to work for me on the first run as something new.

OK, I'm now going to ask what is apparently a thick question - what's the pun with the name Dongalor?
