Well, it must be that post christmas, early jan time. Team at work consists of 8 people. Of those, yesterday 3 were off with the flu. I've avoided the flu for ages and guess what? Last night I got home feeling rough, had a hell of a night unable to sleep, shivering, sore throat.
Yep, must be january. Hot drinks and hot water bottles are the order I think...

Oh dear!
I've only had flu once in my life and IT WERE HELL.
I don't remember finding anything that helped me feel better, just tried to sleep as much as possible.
So . . . get to bed!!!

well, there was that one at the massage parlour....
No, can't say I have. Although I did eat some chicken pies recently
Tefkat, think I'll just have the 1 vit C, don't need to add the runs to my other symptoms!
lil, yay! The !

I don't believe that Bird Flu be gotten by merely EATING chicken....
SWEAT, SWEAT, SWEAT! (and get LOTS of bed-rest!) Make sure you bundle up when out of bed so as not to get chills. Keep your fluids up (as in drink plenty of fluids). Water is best, avoid anything carbonated unless it helps settle the stomach.
I am patting your head (always works when my brother pats my head-- even over the phone).... Pat, pat, pat.... Pat, pat, pat....

My sympathies whatever it is - if it's really flu, you won't be up to reading this for a while!
I'd just about got rid of the cough after my dose of flu (before Xmas) & now I've got a cold that settled in my sinuses for a few days. I'll be crouched over the steamer soon...........

heh, if only I felt up to it!
Still feeling rough, and not helped byu an accident on wednesday night. I stubbed my toe on the fireplace and, as you do, thought 'bloody hell, that hurt'. Was still really hurting 20 mins later so I took my sock to have a look. Not nice. It's the toe next to my little toe and the top part of it is now purply-red. Can't walk properly and it is still slightly bleeding. Going to see the doc as not sure if I have broken the root of the nail (it was loose, but I tried puling the nail out and it won't come so I guess it is still sort of attached), broken it, bruised it or dislocated it. Didn't get a lot of sleep that night.
I think it is almost proper flu, as I've still got a headache and chills and sore throat ad so on. Was expecting to be back to work today.
Thanks for all the sympathy, and head patting!

much, much better, thankyou!
Still got a bit of a cough lingering on, but that may be due to other stuff as well. Flu seems well and truly gone now! Thankgod. I think I managed to pass it on to a lass that works for me. I do feel a bit quilty though as she is fairly heavily pregnant and I'm sure that the flu is not something you'd want in that situation!
Still haven't heard owt about my toothy pegs.
Hows you doing? Still trying to organise the builders olympics?

No, she won't thank you for your bug sharing. The girl that shares my back room with me is pregnant, and apparently that means that she can't take any medication.
On the toothypeg front is that good or bad news? I'm still waiting to here back regarding two of mine, but although they're twinging mildly I'm in no desperate hurry to hear anything. You're prone to a few complications though aren't you?
As for the builders olympics, I think they've been shelved for now. B is ill and can barely stand upright let alone think of ajudicate in our Olympic confrontation. I ask you, since when had Bridge ever been a sport?

B flat on his back sicky? Oh I do hope you're giving him as much sympathy as he gives others
Bridge? never, it's a game for old duffers who find crown green bowling too exciting.

Well I did ban him from going into work for the rest of the week; which ended up with me shouting at him on the way out of the door. He’s not fit to drive at present, so I told him to stuff his GCSE group and get better rather than risk making himself worse of killing himself in the car. I don’t think it went down to well! Oh well.
To be honest I’m not overly good at the whole sympathetic nature bit – I do keep bunging and any food needed in his general direction though.
That's more or less what I said.
