Hello there, nezaket, and welcome to h2g2!
This website is indeed amazing, but it is also very big, so don't be suprised to find lots of information everywhere. We're a very friendly group of people and we talk a lot about many different subjects.
Many people go to askh2g2 and that's a good place to go to get a feel for the people and how we work.
If you are interested in writing Entries for the Guide that's fantastic - have a wander over to PeerReview where there are guidelines and people there to help you out.
