I was just wondering if anyone had tought of doing a sequel to Mask to Mandragora? I mean of all the 'Who' it's one of the few that has set itself up for a sequel. You now with the distinct line at the end about the Helix being in position to try again towards the end of the twentieth century. I had a few ideas perculating, but I can't seem to fill it in all the way?

Well, there was a comic strip in DWM (I believe) called the Mark of Mandragora. It featured the Sylvester Doctor and Ace as well as the Unit crew poping up, and it's been released in a large purple comic book form with a couple of other stories, one of which features Sylvester and Sarah Jane Smith for some reason.
Apart from that, I think that's where the sequel ends, though.
When you say "anyone", I'm guessing you mean "fan fiction" rather than official novelisations. I myself, haven't really thought of doing a sequel to it, but I'm sure some people have.
I don't really know if they were setting themselves up for a sequel and then forgot about it. I mean, as you say, they could easily have done one, but then didn't bother. The fact that since that story, there had been another three (well five, now) Doctors, suggests either that they had forgotten about it, or decided not to.

Of all the return stories of all the monsters/malevolent beings out there only Mandragora and the Black Guardian seem to have set themselves up for sequelization. I mean with Mandragora it's such a set up line I'm surprised that it didn't crop up in the next season or something. As for the Black Guardian the writers actually scripted stories around it a la the randomisor. Not even the daleks or cybermen ever suggested their return until they had actually returned.
