very good point but if you aproach a cake carefull it may be eaten by someone else before you get there or simply get up and scuttle away

I'd be very wary of cakes that move of their own accord. It may be wise to watch your cake for a few minutes before you make the decision to eat it, this will ensure that (a) nobody else takes it, and (b) it is not alive.
