- The Bush administration is considering a plan that would prohibit AIDS funding to foreign nongovernment organizations (NGOs) that do not separate their HIV/AIDS programs from family planning services that include abortion counseling or procedures, according to a leaked State Department memorandum.

"It is ludicrous to expect that organizations in Africa can or should establish separate HIV/AIDS programs in order to receive US funds," Dr. Paul Zeitz said. "These restrictions will hamper the rapid expansion of global AIDS programs," he added."The restrictions represent a Washington-imposed mandate that's unrealistic and costly in the African context."

I knew there was gonna be a catch to the Aids money deal! They WILL not give money to an organiztion that also contributes to womens birth control and abortions!Therefore they are asking for seperate facilities and personal,biuldings ect.$$$ spent on nothing really, to setup seperate *Aids clinics*!

Once again, thanks for enlightening me on the madness of the Bush administration. This sort of stuff just doesn't get reported over here - or at least if it does, not in any media I get the time to peruse.

Thanks for the encouragement and It DOES take time! I understand why people do not have the time to know. They count on that too*soundbites*! For one thing the truth is buried! The headlines about what Bush does for us is usually before the law is signed. They never bother to tell you the outcome. They even have enough sense not to brag about it!

It pays to know thy enemy. I go to the Religious Right side and read about what they are "proud of Dubya for"! That is the quickest way these days! Made it rather simple once I caught on. The main press is slanted Right and Left. The truth comes is wherever the true victories are claimed!

Often the Good Bill that did not make it is because some abhorent totally unrelated thing was added at the end.These idiots even say they did not have time to read the final version.

Most the bad news is tacked onto *Bills* passed.
They are allowed to tack on any unrelated law or act or tax break to any Bill! It remains hidden unless someone brags. The Title of the Bill gives no hintto all the topics covered.I think that practice should be stopped. All the $$ giveaways are done that way.Tit for Tat.
