Feeling meaningless.

Stephen Hawking's announcement that he was wrong 30 years earlier to say that information swallowed by a black hole could never be retrieved. The Times reported this change of mind in 2004 as significant it preserves science's ability to "run the proverbial film backward and reconstruct what happened in, say, the collision of two cars or the collapse of a dead star into a black hole."

Didion (another book discussed in article) arrives at the difference between the will of "the insistence on meaning" and the will of reconstruction for the sake of progress, be it grief or science.

Not sure I understand about the black hole stuff Abbi, but I can identify with the emotion right now. Things are hard at the moment.

Yup; me too, feel like the black hole, whatever it might be, is sucking me in rather.

This earthquake is depressing me beyond belief, how many disasters have we had this year? It seems like there is no end to catastrophe.

I have a relaxation tape that has you put them in a box with a string to let them go for a while.

Some can definitely go into the black hole. At least that energy would be put to good use! I miss that a lot> Being able to burn off bad feelings by burning off excess energy being very physical,usually cleaning.

don't like any friend to be down and I'll do anything to cheer them up

Just send me a nice pair of Nubian slaves & i will be immensely cheered up. Honestly, they will have a good home, plenty of oiling whenever necessary, nice new loincloths & ostrich feathers, turbans, dancing girls in the harem, whatever.

But in return they walk the & give me a massage whenever i demand it.I don't ask for much.
