Good to hear that there's more than hope, Myce. I recall when I was told that I was incurably terminal in the relatively short term. Fortunately it turned out to be a mistake - but I had to live with that diagnosis for a few months while tests were done. Did my head in big style!

Alright, - dim trafferth

UWIC (University of Wales Institute Cardiff) seems alright, though I still want to check out Cardiff Uni. I had a little tour of the department and the campus and it's all easily accessible, though some of the workbenches are a bit high, but where there's a will....

The department is quite hi-tech and quite well funded - Bosch, who have a plant up the road in Llantrisant, send employees there for training and have invested in and donated to the college.

The course director's parting words were "see you in september", so all I've got to do now is fill in a UCAS form and put in the 'personal statement' section that I've been in to see him. Sorted.

Great stuff, Myce. From my limited knowledge of Welsh I take it that 'dim trafferth' is 'no problem'. I know 'dim cwn' is 'no dogs' - and I worked it out from there.

yep, it means 'no problem', but translates literally as 'no difficulty'

Or even 'No trouble' maybe. Bit like the English then. There's never quite an exact translation is there.

If I move to Wales, I shall at least make a start at learning.

I am currently studying the English translation of the lyrics to 'Myfanwy'.
