I don't know any on h2g2, but I do know heaps in real life. Type 1 and type 2.

My grandpa and uncle are type 2, a friend of mine at school is type 1 and mu Mum's best friend's husband and daughter are type 1. Which is how I know more about diabetes than my health teacher when she was teaching us...
Unfortunately for my Grandpa and Uncle, they have un-controled type 2, so even though they are non-insulin dependant, they have to inject anyways.
It's a pretty bad disease. I'm at high risk of type 2, apparently. So's Mum and my brother, and my counsins on my Uncle's side.
Hope the hypos aren't too bad!
