Robert Rankin e mailed me to make sure I'm OK, i.e. hadn't gone a killed myself and to check was going to Brentcon1! So yay that's boosted my ego for the night! Scare the hell outta me and made me feel guilty for having my favourite author think about someone like me.
I'll reply to it tomorrow so I can spend a while on it so I don't say something dumb.

That is so cool that he emailed you! I've only heard of RR since I've been on hootoo (since Nov 2003) but I really want to read him now.

I'm afraid all indications are that he's not published this side of the pond, vixen
That's so Kam! Hm, maybe you can ask him if our guess as to why I can't find him over here is right

In the US you can get Robert Rankin novels from Amazon.com and can save a few $'s by getting them 'Used or New'. I can recomend titles if anyone wants.
http://www.sproutlore.com is the official fan club website, there is also an edited guide entry on him and then there's h2g2 fan club I tried to get and running with info too.
But yes it is a damn fine thing to be e mailed by Robert and Sally.
Confirms what we already knew Rachie, that Robert is good to his fans.
I haven't been at the computer all the while I've been connected so I still to get a reply sent off so I don't appear rude.

Will have a look in the second hand book store, don't hold out much hope tho, they don't seem to have any rhyme or reason the way the stack them.
The books are crammed into available shelf space and in piles on the floors and any surrounding window shelves! They seem to be in a kind of horror, reference, thriller, childrens categorical order but that is very loosely adhered to...coz customers tend to wander along with a book and then stuff it somewhere when they find another shiny..

I wouldn't hold out much hope then... I'm yet to a Robert Rankin book in a second hand book shop over here. Though Suz did find one recently methinks.

Well, deadline, is strictly speaking, Monday; Sunday I'm traveling up to the course in Bristol, and Saturday is the meet, and tomorrow morning I've an interview in the morning, and getting ready for meet and packing for Bristol and cleaning house in afternoon its just a case of getting going with me, once I'm going it doesn't normally take long Right, its 9.36 PM, and I've dinner to cook, and I think it'l take a while to cook the sauce I want to make to use up the pasta, tomatos celery and mushrooms I've got, quite some time, so I better get going think I'll make enough for tomorrow night

Feeling quite tired tonight, went to bed quite late last night, and the night before I only slept for an hour or so at least I seem to be getting everything done though, and I even managed to cook a rather nice meal tonight; left half for tomorrow night, so one thing less to do

I tend to go through 'phases', at the moment I'm totally irregular sleep, some nights I'll sleep a decent time, others hardly at all, then I'll hopeully get back to a sensible 'phrase' soon, and get pretty regular for a while...
