Flying Sheep...

I've not posted a journal for a little while, so I decided to hit back with an old news story http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/2839699.stm
Which I am fairly confident you weren't expecting.

Good grief, that's awful (not the fractured head of the fan)

Oh, don't you mind me. I think it's amusing that the fan was hit, I just don't find it amusing that they killed the sheep on stage, and just for the show.

I don't think they killed it on stage... Just went through the theatre of mutilating it's dead body.

Just had another look, seems that you're right. Still, it does sound rather ghastly to me.

Monty Python had a flying sheep sketch... I'm wondering if I shouldn't turn up at this Python related event: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6537023.stm

I reckon it could be. I'd be surprise if the weren't *alot* more people than at the New York attempt.

Is there something quantifiably British about it?

So yeah, it was a most fun evening first going through a rigourous training regime in the art of playing the coconut halves, then breaking the world record [previously set by some American pansies], we set a new one at 4382, then sitting in Trafalgar Square with 2000 other coconutters watching the screening of Holy Grail.
I got to near poking distance of Terry and Terry but they dashed from recording an interview to stage before I got ask 'will you sign my nuts?' to my eternal chagrin.

I would just like to record that Stephanie has proximately 10:45 EDT on Monday 23rd of April 2007 described herself as "frilly".

No, I think he was up by the National Gallery, I was down by Nelson's Column.
It was cool. There was a girl there with a shirt saying 'Shrubbery' and some bits of what took to be laurel.
2000 people chorusing "Ni!" is really something too.

To be honest, I find large crowds quiute scary, so I don't think I'd have gone there, but it seems that a great time was had by all.

Crowds I've for the most part got the hang of.
I used to get a panic attack at times just thinking confronting a crowd of people, especially in shopping areas.
Interestingly throngs of people in London didn't affect me so much, I think because it's a diverse city and everyone's has anonymity.
For me it's still smaller crowds of people by whom or a place in which I have a desire to be accepted that is terrifying.

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean.
I've stopped worrying about that, I've never in my life belonged to a group/clique or whatever - and you know what? It definitely has its advantages. I have some very good friends, and that's fully sufficient.
