I was pretty tired this afternoon, and decided to have a nap.
The dream involved my trying to drive somewhere.... I'm not sure where I was supposed to be, or where I was supposed to be going, or even why I was supposed to be going where I was supposed to be going. I lost the car and was forced to search for it on foot.
Funakky, I found myself on a steep road which got ever steeper and ever more rocky.ntil it ended at the base of a huge cliff. Actually, it was only the height of a wall in a house, but for some reason it expanded while I was climbing to a huge cliff-face.
I found myself amongst a huge crowd of Japanese pilgrims who were attempting to scale the cliff as part of their religious pilgrimage. Some of them were using huge contraptions made from blocks of stone put together as sort of rolling stairs. In some cases, there were large enough for several people to srand on. In other cases, they were small and simply attached to the feet of these pilgrims and were supposed to enable them to stand firmly on the stairs or ledges up the face of the cliff.
The road leading up to the cliff and the cliff, itself was composed of rough stone which was thousands of years old. However, because the pilgrims were using it, and pusjiong these huge stone staircases over them, they were crumbling had been "repaired" over that time using blocks of stone and metal shelving (the kind you find in stores which hang from slots attached to the back of the shelving unit!?!).
The cliff-face loomed over the ocean which was a beautiful, deep blue, and the coastline which was rocky, dry and desolate (except for the town which was close to the raod leading to the cliff.
I was scaling the cliff amongst the hordes of pilgrims who were pushing and shoving to get to the top. I was a long way up the cliff-face when I reached for one of the rock shelf (which was part rock, part metal shelf), only to have it come away in my hand.... I started to fall.
Knowing I was going to be killed, I found myself trying to fly, on the off-chance I would be able to do so. It was actually quite beautiful and, while I was terrified, I was also in awe of the beauty and anticipating the sudden end I would have.... I was falling for several minutes.
Unfortunately, before I hit the ground, my phone rang and I awoke.

This nap wasn't taken after having had a double cheese pepperoni and sausage pizza for lunch, was it?

Nope!
Last night's dream.....
I went on a trip with my girlfriend and her son. For some reason we weren't going to stay at a hotel or a campsite (I can't clearly recall if she was going on business or we were supposed to be going camping). Instead, we pulled into a city park in whatever city we were in -- some unnamed city. In the park were long beds that would sleep 15 or 20 people. They were neatly made and clean, so I assume they were some "alternative" to a hotel. I think I must have had a residual thought of last night when I was over at the same friend's house and her daughter was having a sleepover and they had a matress on the floor. All three of the friends were tucked in on the matress.
I started to doze off while the guy next to me(!???!) whom I didn't know started chatting with me and my friend's son.
Since I was nearly asleep, I was sort of mumbling my answers and trying to wake up. Finally, I roused myself to get up and go for a coffee. Then I noticed that my cat, Benjamin, who was travelling with me, and for whom I had stupidly not brought his harness or leash, was not around. I spend the rest of the dream hunting through the park and local shops looking for him. Unfortunately, the park was filled with cats of various descriptions, none of them being Benjamin.
...and, nope, no pizza eaten just before bed....

Don't try to type in the dark, then, or you'll write stuff like jhhg jhstytybnf
My most recent dream had me in training for the U.S. Olympic swimming team.
