Daffodils are looking good just now.
They are my favourite flower followed by lillies. Something about the way they always come up (time after time) in the spring after a cold dark winter and are heart warming to look at.

I've had a soft spot for the daffodil since childhood... I think it's kept going more because of the Welsh connection than their sybolic value...
Lilies I'm allergic to, but I'm aware of the associatiuon with death...
Japaneese Cherry Blossom are very powerful and beautiful with much more traditional life/death conotations...
But for spring and renewed life I favour the simple beauty of the snowdrop...

I like the simple elegance of lillies and to be honest it was ages before i realised the death association
I used to treat a cat called Quasi with a broken leg (when i lived in sheffield ) and every 2 weeks i had to put a new plaster on his leg. the owners daughter used to collect him after school and after the last treatment she gave me a bunch of lillies. it was really the first gift i had from a client that was purely for me and since then they have always been extra special to me.
Perhaps i am just instinctively, subconciously, drawn to things associated with death

yeh perhaps u are perhaps u realise more about death people often dismiss the subject unless
they get bereved or close to deth themselves then when they are better often talk about it for a breaf min then forget about it or dissmiss it as a close shave but some people it happens to them and it changes there life they find god (religon)in whatever god u belive in or try to help others

I love daffodils too. My mother has about fifteen different sorts in her garden, and is wodnering how many she can take with her when she moves to her retirement home.
I was thinking this morning that the spring flowers - snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils - are the first I ever remember knowing about, or rather I don't remember not knowing about them. And they are also the ones I love best.
