Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

It may be a bit late to suggest, but rubbing instead of scratching may still make the itchyness go away, without the risk of damaging anything. Just don't rub harder than you need to.

And itchiness is always worse the hotter it is; keep the area coolish and you may not notice the itchiness before long. So flannels are good in that respect, even if it means resoaking them every five seconds.

I'm sure some creams, like handcreams with aloe vera or something, would be good, but I don't know what, or for that matter how the stiches would put up with them. Be wary with it, but there may be a solution there.
