I think your wrong about that 'if we knew it all it would go away' thing. Somehow I think that one only applies to the universe (and since this guide is about the Earth it's really a rather long way from being that).

Anyway. I don't think we will end up as 'editor' for the final entry in the guide. That's reserved for people who have secretaries to cut up the entries while being out for lunch.

And finally: We won't lie. Call it artistic freedom to make the facts look better. And remember anywhere reality don't match the guide it's reality that's wrong.

Well, you can never be too sure, can you? I mean, how do you know knowing it all won't make it go away when you don't know it all to know that?

And yes. It is reality that is wrong. Naturally. Simply inaccurate, whereas we are definitively inaccurate.

But we have fun doing it, so it's all right.
