You might like to add The Olivia Tremor Control, or Neutral Milk Hotel. Both of which have albums which reside in my CD collection, and are rather good. OTC are a mix of white noise, Beach Boys pop, and discordant guitars. NMH are a combination of folk, mariachi-like trumpets, and very odd lyrics.

Actually, I thought I had Neutral Milk Hotel, it sounds familiar. Maybe not though. *can't be bothered to go and check*

My favourite band name is one I heard of who had sent a tape in the John Peel show (John has a habit of playing records by bands whose names he likes). The name of the band - "Pedigree Scum"
