Can I only post messages to my own page?

I wanted to leave a message for someone else on her page, but I was unable to. Even though I was logged in, when I tried to write something on her page, there was a message asking me to log in, after which it took me to my own page. I then went back to where I wanted to post a messge and the whole loop started again.
Am I trying to do the impossible?

Who are you trying to contact?
If they happen to have signed on to use one of the messageboards then they might not actually have a userspace - alternatively, if they're users of one of the other DNA community sites you might have to agree to that site's T&C before you can post.
