Hi, I only joined h2g2 a few days ago with an intention to join the Community Artists because I'm not really a writer. Although I did learn to write a bit at school. Anyway, I followed some instructions that I found somewhere about loading a picture that I'd drawn onto Photobucket and starting a conversation. Since then I have been ACED by a very nice lady and had a couple of very nice comments off people but nothing from the Art Community about being accepted or not. As you can see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F99011?thread=5120139 And... to be quite honest with you.....I'm beginning to panic. Standing in the sleeping quarters of this Vogon Constructor Ship without a Bable Fish or even a Towel.

Your very nice lady ACE left a message on the Ace forum to draw attention to your volunteering. Unfortunately, we only have two eds at the moment, and one of them was out of office this week, which left one ed to do all the work - and there's a lot of work.
So please be patient, it could be a while before you'll get a reply.
Why don't you use the time and explore the site while you wait?

Adds to that, assorted sizes of drawing paper and assorted drawing implements, and drops a hint that Strangley has always want a virtual portrait!
On second thoughts scrap that idea as, if I might pinch from a film,
"The horror, the horror!"
.
My image should not be around a sensitive public.

I'd love to have a bash at doing your portrait!
I've been thinking how it could be done. I suppose that you could post a picture of yourself on some such site as Photobucket and I could post my effort back. If you've any views on the medium that you'd like me to use, then let me know. My favourites are pen and ink, pen, ink and watercolour or pastel.
Just be aware that I've found that it can be difficult for me if I don't know the person but please send a decent quality photo and I'll have a go! C'mon!

It's OK, I was only joking, however I think your keeness to become a community artist is great and good luck with your endeavors as a very worthwhile thik that would look good on your CV for whatever type of job you get as would show commitment and hard work, and a talent of course!

hi ,please don`t be offended but i`v allways thought that art can not be taught ,i mean we can all plod about a bit but to call ourselves an artist and make a living from our art is something you have and you teach yourself to get better .even more so with writing
