Ok heres a list of things i'd love to see in H2G2:

1) A site map.
2) The ability to find out how to do things SIMPLY!!!
3) An alphabetical index (alright similar to point 1 but different enough to count)
4) An idiots guide to customising your home page, if any one reads mine they will see I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT. (similar to point 2)
5) An explanation of the difference in things e.g. forum posting, guide entries, threads[what ever they really are] etc.
6) and a load of the things that other people have asked for to be included in the site.
Thanks
WyrdUp

Okay, well, some of what you were asking for is already here...

>1) A site map.

Sadly, no. This site is really, really big, but look at the answer to #3.

>2) The ability to find out how to do things SIMPLY!!!

They're working on that, for the time being, hit the 'Don't Panic' button. If you have a specific question, ask Jim Lynn http://www.h2g2.com/U6 That's what he's around for. smiley - smiley

>3) An alphabetical index (alright similar to point 1 but different >enough to count)

Easy. smiley - smileyhttp://www.h2g2.com/index.cgi

>4) An idiots guide to customising your home page, if any one reads >mine they will see I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT. (similar to point 2)

They're working on that, too. Ask around though, someone will probably help (me included, but I need to know what you want to do).

>5) An explanation of the difference in things e.g. forum posting, >guide entries, threads[what ever they really are] etc.

Okay, this (what I'm typing right this second) is a forum posting. I am posting in a forum, right? A thread is where this forum posting is going to live. So far, this thread consists of your initial post and this one. Should you, me, or anyone else respond...you get the idea.

A guide entry is--um, a guide entry. See the thing on your page for the user pages? When you create a user page, you have the option to submit it to the editors for rejection, which is a silly way of saying that one of the editors will look at it, judge the article, mess with some text one way or another to make it more readable/factual/humorous/whatever and then put it up as an official entry to the Guide. It will be part of the official Guide itself.
If you choose not to submit it, it's just a plain old user page, just something to kick around. It's much like a journal entry, but you can use all the HTML tricks your heart desires in it. Look at other people's pages and see what they're doing to get an idea.

Er, anything specific? You haven't given me a whole lot to go on...

It is so easy to say what you would like..
Me for example, I would like a big golden rubber stick to scratch my back,
and a bottle of zheenjintronix also.
Anyone fancy something else ;>?

hey levitan,

yes, I really would like something else. In fact, I can think of a lot of something else that I would really like. Something else sounds exactly like something that I have been looking for. A lot. Wow. Hey man, thanks.

Happy?
